Private Party Venue in Central Kansas
Some occasions deserve better than a back room with a folding table. Smoky Valley Distillery in Marquette rents two private rooms — 60 seats and 140 seats — with full-service bars pouring spirits we distill on site.
Milestone birthdays, anniversary dinners, retirement send-offs, reunions, showers, and company parties. Bring your own caterer and your own decorations; we handle the room and the bar.

Milestone Birthdays
Fortieth, fiftieth, sixtieth, seventy-fifth — the birthdays worth making a night of. A private room, a bar pouring spirits made on site, and a stage if someone insists on a speech or a playlist.
Anniversary Parties
Twenty-fifth, fiftieth, or a vow renewal with the family that was there the first time. The tasting room seats 60 for dinner and toasts; the venue room takes 140 when the whole family tree turns up.
Retirement Parties
Send someone off properly. Coworkers, family, and friends in one room, an open floor for the slideshow and the stories, and parking for a crowd arriving straight from work.
Reunions & Graduations
Class reunions, family reunions, and graduation parties fit the venue room well — long tables, a stage for the photo board, and space for people to stand and catch up.
Showers & Rehearsal Dinners
Baby showers, bridal showers, and rehearsal dinners work best in the tasting room, where 20 to 60 guests can eat, open gifts, and still hear each other talk.
Holiday & Company Parties
Office holiday parties, staff appreciation nights, and corporate events. Outside catering is welcome, so you are not locked into a banquet menu.

Main Tasting Room
Dark wood and a long back bar in the 1919 COOP building. Right for showers, milestone birthday dinners, anniversary meals, and retirement gatherings where everyone should be able to hear the toast.

Venue Room
The adjoining 1901 hardware store, rebuilt in 2023 into an event hall with a 15' x 30' stage. Right for reunions, big anniversary parties, company parties, and anything with a band or a dance floor.

Private Party FAQ
What size party can you host?
Anything from about 20 guests up to 140. The main tasting room seats 60 and suits showers, dinners, and smaller birthdays. The venue room seats up to 140 and is the one to book for reunions, big anniversary parties, and retirement send-offs.
Can we book a private party during your open hours?
Our retail hours are Thursday through Saturday, and private events run around them — including evenings and days we are otherwise closed. Tell us the day and time you want and we will tell you what is available.
Can we bring our own food, cake, and decorations?
Yes. Outside catering is welcome and we can point you to caterers who have worked in the building before. Bring your own cake, centerpieces, balloons, photo boards, and decorations. Beverage service runs through our bars.
Is there a bar, and can we set up a tab?
Both rooms have full-service bars stocked with the vodka, bourbon, and whiskey we distill on site, plus non-alcoholic options. Bar arrangements — open tab, drink tickets, cash bar — are set up when you book, based on how you want to run the night.
Can we have music, a DJ, or a slideshow?
Yes. The venue room has a 15' x 30' stage with speakers and wireless internet, which covers a live band, a DJ, a playlist through the house system, or a laptop for a retirement slideshow.
What does it cost to rent the venue for a party?
Rental is quoted per event rather than as a fixed package, because a Thursday-evening retirement party for 30 and a Saturday reunion for 130 are very different bookings. Send your date, guest count, and party type and we will come back with pricing within 48 hours.
How far ahead do we need to book?
Saturdays and peak-season Fridays fill up months out. Weeknight and Sunday parties are frequently available on much shorter notice. It costs nothing to ask about a date.
