Kansas Bourbon

Five handcrafted bourbons — from our classic straight bourbon to our best-selling wheated Bud & Dewey's, a hickory-smoked expression, and two single barrel releases (High Rye and High Wheat). All made with locally sourced grains and the naturally sweet, sandstone-filtered water of the Kiowa Aquifer.

What separates these five from each other is mostly the grain recipe. If terms like “wheated” and “high rye” are new to you, start with what a mash bill is — including the federal 51% rule that decides which of our whiskeys can legally be called bourbon at all. For the other number on the label, see what proof in whiskey means and the 80, 100, 125, and 160 proof rules behind it. And for everything else printed on the bottle, here's how to read a whiskey label — which words federal law requires, and which ones are marketing. When it comes time to put one of these on the table, our guide to bourbon and food pairing gives each of the five a plate to sit next to.
