We're proud to announce that our Rye Single Barrel Whiskey has been awarded Best of Kansas at the 2025 Heartland Whiskey Competition, presented by Kansas Corn.
What This Means
The Heartland Whiskey Competition brings together distilleries from across the region to be judged on quality, craftsmanship, and character. Winning Best of Kansas is a recognition that our small-batch approach — Kansas grains, Kiowa Aquifer water, and hands-on distilling in Marquette — produces whiskey that stands up against anyone in the state.
About Our Rye
Our Rye Single Barrel Whiskey is built on an 82% rye, 12% corn, 6% malted barley mash bill. That's a high-rye ratio that delivers bold, assertive spice balanced by sweet butterscotch and subtle coffee notes.
It's our head distiller's personal drink of choice — and now, it's officially the best rye in Kansas.
From Grain to Glass in Kansas
Everything about this whiskey is Kansas. The rye and corn come from local farmers. The water comes from the Kiowa Aquifer, naturally filtered through sandstone. The distilling, aging, and bottling all happen right here in our historic COOP building in downtown Marquette.
We don't take shortcuts. We use small 10-gallon barrels that deliver accelerated flavor development — 2 years in our barrels equals 4.5-5 years in a standard 53-gallon barrel. The result is a rye whiskey with depth and complexity that belies its age.
Try It Yourself
The best way to experience our award-winning rye is to visit us for a tour and tasting. You'll taste all of our spirits — including the Best of Kansas winner — and see exactly how we make them.
Can't make it to Marquette? Find our spirits at 16 retail locations across Kansas, or contact our distributor Vintegrity at (913) 859-9441.
Make It a Cocktail
Our Rye Whiskey is the ideal base for classic cocktails:
- Manhattan — the spice of the rye cuts through sweet vermouth perfectly
- Rye Cocktails — a collection of recipes built for our rye
- Sazerac — with an absinthe rinse and Peychaud's bitters
Thank you to Kansas Corn and the Heartland Whiskey Competition for this recognition. We're just getting started.
