Kansas's Largest City, 90 Minutes Away
As the largest city in Kansas, Wichita is home to many of our biggest fans. The 90-mile drive north on I-135 is an easy, straight shot that takes you from the city into the rolling Smoky Hills — a welcome change of scenery for a weekend getaway.
Getting Here from Wichita
Take I-135 N from Wichita through McPherson (about 60 miles), then head west on KS-4 to Marquette. The drive is mostly interstate with minimal traffic outside of Wichita proper.
For a more scenic route, exit I-135 at McPherson and take KS-153 N through Lindsborg — "Little Sweden USA" — before connecting to Marquette via KS-4.

The Perfect Wichita Escape
Tired of the city? Marquette offers everything Wichita doesn't — small-town charm, zero traffic, and a craft distillery experience you can't get anywhere else in Kansas. Here's our recommended weekend itinerary:
Friday Evening: Drive up after work, check into Preston House (sleeps 11). Walk to the distillery for Friday evening tastings.
Saturday: Sleep in, then join a guided tour at 11 AM. Spend the afternoon exploring Marquette — the Kansas Motorcycle Museum, historic murals, and the city park trail. Return to the distillery for live music Saturday evening.
Sunday: Grab breakfast, stop in Lindsborg for Swedish pastries and shopping on the drive back to Wichita.
Why Wichita Visitors Love Us
Our tasting room visitors from Wichita consistently mention three things:
- The spirits are exceptional — especially Kernza Whiskey and our flavored vodkas
- The experience is personal — small groups mean you get the owners' full attention
- The setting is charming — a historic 1919 building in a small Kansas town
